The Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut has joined a partnership that is seeking to develop three racetracks in New York.
The tribe is part of Capital Play Inc., which made the highest bid to develop the racetracks.
The tribe would develop the entertainment side of the properties.
Capital Play plans to add video lottery terminals, hotels and other entertainment options to two of the racetracks. A third facility would remain largely unchanged.
The tribe operates the successful Mohegan Sun casino on its reservation and recently opened the Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs, a racetrack with slot machines, in Pennsylvania.
