An anti-gaming group plans to ask a federal court to shut down the Seneca Nation's off-reservation casino in Buffalo, New York.
The tribe opened a temporary casino last week. But Citizens for a Better Buffalo says the site cannot be used for gaming.
The land was taken into trust pursuant to a land claims settlement act. The National Indian Gaming Commission said the tribe satisfied the land claim exception in Section 20 of the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act [PDF].
