The Wyandotte Nation of Oklahoma plans to open its casino in Kansas later this fall.
The tribe owns trust land in downtown Kansas City. After several legal battles, the tribe says it will build a casino with 40 Class II machines and a restaurant.
The move came amid voter approval of two gaming measures in Wyandotte County. The first allows a state-owned casino somewhere in the county and the second allows slot machines at a racetrack.
