The Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation of Kansas has a new name and logo for its casino.
The tribe opened the Harrah’s Prairie Band Casino under a management contract with Harrah's, a top gaming compact. But now that the tribe has assumed complete control, the facility will be known as the Prairie Band Casino and Resort.
“We’ve been in business for nine years now and we had a great partner in Harrah’s and they’ve taught us how to do things well,” Chairwoman Tracy Stanhoff said.
The new logo features a flame, a traditional Potawatomi symbol, and a diamond to represent gaming.
Separately, the tribe is pursuing gaming on ancestral land in Illinois. The tribe has been meeting with the public to explain its plans but a ruling on the status of the land has not been made by the Interior Department.
