The Occupational Safety and Health Administration must get a warrant to question employees of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe's casino, a federal judge in Arizona ruled.
OSHA has been trying to inspect the Casino del Sol as part of a national workplace safety program. The tribe refused entry to an inspector without a warrant.
OSHA came back with a warrant but the tribe objected when the inspector tried to interview employees and visit another gaming facility. The warrant did not authorize those activities, the tribe argued.
U.S. District Court Judge Frank Zapata agreed and told OSHA it must ask for another warrant to question employees. Zapata also rejected a request to hold the tribe in contempt.
