The Milwaukee County Labor Council, AFL-CIO, is opposing a bill that would place additional hurdles for off-reservation casinos in Wisconsin.
The bill requires state lawmakers to approve off-reservation casinos. That's in addition to the state governor's approval under the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act.
The bill targets the Menominee Nation's proposed off-reservation casino. The AFL-CIO says the bill would "certainly kill" the project.
The Forest County Potawatomi Tribe, which opposes the Menominee casino, supports the bill.
