The Santa Ysabel Band of Diegueño Indians celebrated the opening of the 10th casino in San Diego County, California.
The Santa Ysabel Resort and Casino has 349 slot machines. The $27 million, 35,000-square-foot was financed by a bank loan guaranteed by the Yavapai-Apache Nation of Arizona.
"It's been a long, long time to get to this point," Ron Christman, a tribal member, told The North County Times. "It goes to show how far we've come."
In related news, the San Pasqual Band of Mission Indians debuts the first half of a $114 million casino expansion tomorrow.
