Members of the Meskwaki Tribe of Iowa will go to the polls on April 12 to decide whether to legalize the sale of liquor at the Meskwaki Bingo-Casino-Hotel.
Liquor is banned on the reservation. But some tribal leaders say the casino should sell alcohol to stay competitive with other Iowa gaming facilities and to generate revenue.
Opponents say the tribe should remain dry, citing health and social problems created by alcohol.
