The Seminole Tribe of Florida has asked the Bureau of Indian Affairs to place 44 acres in trust so it can build a bigger casino in Coconut Creek.
The tribe operates a gaming facility on 5 acres already in trust. The 44 acres sits adjacent to the casino site and would be used for a large casino and hotel.
The Broward County Commission isn't supporting or opposing the tribe's land-into-trust application. But the county wants the tribe to pay for lost property taxes and for municipal services.
