The Menominee Nation of Wisconsin and the Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut remain committed to an off-reservation casino.
The Menominee Nation wants to build a casino in Kenosha, nearly 200 miles from the reservation. The Mohegan Tribe is financing the project and recently bought out the share of an indicted Kenosha businessman.
The casino has the support of officials in Kenosha, who plan to meet with the Bureau of Indian Affairs to lobby for the project.
