Members of the Chippewa Cree Tribe of Montana caught the first glimpse of the new Northern Winz Casino on Wednesday.
The tribe opened the doors to the 20,000-square-foot facility for the first time. Tribal members got a free dinner at the restaurant and were able to play the electronic gaming machines and card games.
Within an hour of opening, the casino had reached its capacity of 900. "It's already packed," Charlie Swan remarked to The Great Falls Tribune. "It's better than I thought it'd be."
The tribe will hold a larger grand-opening ceremony on March 30-31.
