The city council in New Bedford, Massachusetts, has invited the Aquinnah Wampanoag Tribe to discuss potential plans for a casino.
The city has long been considered a prime spot for a casino. The Aquinnah Wampanoags, the only federally recognized tribe in the state, has previously sought gaming there.
But with the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe about to receive recognition, the city says its open to discussions with the tribe too. The Mashpees have expressed interested in gaming and is said to be scouting casino sites.
