The Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde broke ground on a $40 million expansion of the Spirit Mountain Casino on its Oregon reservation.
The expansion includes a 135,196-square-foot conference and events complex and a 16,000-square-foot youth activity center. The project will be completed by the end of summer 2008.
The tribe already completed phase one of its expansion. A $17 million gaming hall, known as the Peak, opened in September 2005.
