The Snoqualmie Tribe of Washington will break ground on its casino on February 26 in anticipation of a November 1 opening.
The tribe just finalized a $330 million financing deal for the 165,000-square foot casino. Most of the money will be used to pay off a loan to the tribe's former partners, who backed out of the project. About $100 million will be used for construction.
Last October, the tribe paid $50.8 million for the 56-acre site that will be used for the casino. The land was taken into trust under the newly recognized tribes exception in Section 20 of the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act.
