The Passamaquoddy Tribe of Maine is once again asking state voters to approve a casino referendum.
The tribe wants to build a racetrack with slot machines in Washington County, the poorest in the state.
This is the third time voters have been asked to consider such a project.
Opposition has come from Gov. John Baldacci (D) and anti-casino groups. But tribal leaders won't give up and have even bigger plans for the new casino, which would include a hotel, conference center, restaurants, gift shops and a high-stakes beano parlor.
