The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut will have to wait at least until March for final permission to open a casino in Pennsylvania.

The tribe and its partners were awarded one of five licenses for a stand-alone casino. The tribe plans to bring the Foxwoods name to Philadelphia.

But the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board doesn't plan on issuing final orders until the end of the month, The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported. That will trigger a 30-day appeal period that could lead to court challenges.

The Mohegan Tribe, also of Connecticut, recently opened a slot machine facility in Pennsylvania. Gamblers have spent $250 million there in just two months, exceeding expectations.
