The Bureau of Indian Affairs has extended the comment period on the rules for gaming on lands acquired after October 17, 1988.
The rules seek to implement Section 20 of the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act. "This proposed rule establishes a process for submitting and considering applications from Indian tribes seeking
to conduct class II or class III gaming activities on lands acquired in trust after October 17, 1988," a notice in today's Federal Register states.
Comments must be received by February 1.
