Jackson Rancheria casino proceeds help hospital

The Jackson Rancheria of California donated $1 million in gaming revenues to help Sutter Amador Hospital expand its facility.

Tribal leaders presented the check at a ceremony on December 7. "We know the kind of quality healthcare that Sutter Health provides and are excited to help in the expansion to offer the best in medical technology," vice chairman "Bo" Marks said, The Amador Ledger-Dispatch reported.

The money will help Sutter Amador fund its multi-phase development. The tribe and the hospital said $700,000 will be used for a new Outpatient Services Center and $300,000 will be used for future projects.

The entire project costs $22.7 million.
