Critic of Mohegan Tribe gets day in court

The Connecticut Supreme Court heard arguments in a case filed by a former employee of the Mohegan Tribe's casino.

Bradley W. Beecher was an investigator for the casino. He claims the tribe fired him for criticizing the gaming operations but the case was dismissed by a state judge due to sovereign immunity.

The case began after the tribe reached a settlement with Beecher in which he wasn't supposed to reveal specific information about the casino operation. The dispute came as the tribe pursued a gaming license in Pennsylvania.

Beecher, a former state police lieutenant, helped derail the Senate campaign of Republican Alan Schlesinger when he revealed that the candidate gambled under a fake name at the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation's casino.
