The Narragansett Tribe suffered defeat at the polls on Tuesday when Rhode Island voters rejected a proposed casino.
According to news reports, 63 percent voted against the casino referendum. Only four municipalities supported the $1 billion project.
The tribe's partner, Harrah's Entertainment, spent $12 million, a record amount, on the campaign.
