The Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians of California declared victory after a judge rejected two lawsuits aimed at stopping a highway interchange for the tribe's proposed casino.
The tribe plans to open a casino on its rancheria in El Dorado County. Caltrans, the state transportation agency, approved the $45 million project.
A group called Voices for Rural Living filed a lawsuit to challenge the environmental review of the project. The judge rejected the case and dismissed a second filed in September.
