Navajo Nation runs into problems at casino site

Land and development issues have prompted the Navajo Nation to consider erecting a temporary casino on the reservation in Arizona.

The tribe chose Nahata Dziil, near Sanders, for its first casino. But Navajo Nation President Joe Shirley Jr. said the lack of infrastructure has delayed plans.

So a temporary casino is being considered in Navajo, Arizona. A permanent facility would still go to Nahata Dziil.

Other potential casino sites include Shiprock, New Mexico.
