Narragansett Tribe promises $20M a year to town

The Narragansett Tribe and partner Harrah's Entertainment are promising $20 million a year to the town of West Warwick for hosting a casino.

The tribe and Harrah's say the town will receive gaming and real-estate taxes from the casino. But local leaders say a final deal hasn't been reached.

That isn't stopping Harrah's from touting the $20 million figure on a new website (http://www.keepitinri.com). Voters are being asked to approve a state constitutional amendment to authorize the casino.
