The Bureau of Indian Affairs is holding two public hearings on the Cowlitz Tribe's proposed casino in Clark County, Washington.
The tribe, recognized by the BIA in 2000, is seeking to acquire 152 acres for an initial reservation. Part of the reservation will be used for a $510 million casino resort.
The BIA is taking comments on a draft environmental impact statement on the proposal. The hearings take place next week, on July 14 and July 15.
