Federal Register: NIGC notice of Class II consultation

The National Indian Gaming Commission plans to hold six tribal consultation sessions on new standards for Class II machines.

The meetings start in July and run through August. They will be held in Minneapolis, Minnesota (July 10-11); Denver, Colorado (July 12-13); Washington, DC (July 18-19); Tacoma, Washington (July 24-25); Ontario, California (July 26-27); and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (August 8-9).

Two notices published in the Federal Register lay out the proposed rules. One sets classification standards for bingo, lotto and similar Class II games. The second revises the definition for the term "electronic or electromechanical facsimile" when such aids are used in the play of Class II games.

Comments on the proposed rules will be accepted at the consultation sessions. Written comments are due by August 23.
