NIGC approves Iowa Tribe's management contract

The National Indian Gaming Commission has approved a management contract between the Iowa Tribe of Oklahoma and Lakes Entertainment.

The tribe is opening the new Cimarron Casino with the help of Lakes. The casino will feature 350 electronic devices, video poker and video blackjack.

The NIGC has the authority to review and approve management contracts under the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act. A bill pending in the Senate would expand NIGC's authority to review more types of gaming contracts pending tribal consultation.
