Mashantucket Tribe eyes slot license in Philadelphia

The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut is seeking one of two licenses to run a slot machine facility in Philadelphia.

The tribe, owners of the successful Foxwoods Resort Casino, wants to open the Foxwoods Casino Philadelphia. The facility would feature 3,000 slot machines, several restaurants, and an entertainment venue.

Testimony on the applicants, including Donald Trump, begins today before the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board. A total of 14 slot machine licenses will be awarded under state law.

The Mohegan Tribe, also of Connecticut, is vying for a license at another location in the state.
