Wyoming tribes prepare for gaming expansion

Wyoming's two federally recognized tribes are preparing to expand their gaming operations on the Wind River Reservation.

The Northern Arapaho Tribe is training staff to manage and run new Class III games like poker and blackjack. The tribe won the right to offer the games, without a tribal-state compact, after the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals found they were legal in the state and that the state was acting in bad faith [Indianz.Com: Wyoming tribe wins Class III gaming case again].

Meanwhile, the Eastern Shoshone Tribe is negotiating a Class III compact and has hired a casino management firm in preparation of opening a new casino.
