Connecticut tribes report slight gains in slot revenue

Connecticut's two federally recognized tribes reported gains in slot machine revenues for the month of February 2006.

The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation, owners of Foxwoods Resort Casino, reported a 0.6 percent increase to $67.4 million. The Mohegan Tribe, owners of Mohegan Sun, reported a 1.2 percent increase to $68.9 million.

The Mohegan casino has reported stronger earnings than the Pequot casino since May 2005, when the Mohegan Tribe debuted an expansion. The Pequots are in the midst of an expansion.

Each tribe contributes 25 percent of slot revenues to the state.
