Agua Caliente Band to address impact of casino project

The Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians is beginning negotiations over the tribe's addition of a hotel at its casino in Rancho Mirage, California.

Earlier this week, the tribe approved a 400-room, multi-story hotel at the Agua Caliente Casino. The land is outside of city limits but the tribe is agreeing to contribute to road-improvement projects fire services at the expanded facility.

The city is seeking $12 million to address the impacts, a request the tribe has considered to be somewhat outlandish.
