Muckleshoot Tribe to continue investment in track

The Muckleshoot Tribe of Washington will continue to invest in an off-reservation, non-Indian owned racetrack.

The tribe will supplement the purses for non-stakes races at Emerald Downs for the 2006 season. Previously, the tribe invested $1.6 million in the races.

The tribe bought the land where the racetrack sits in 2002 for $73 million. Emerald Downs then signed a lease with the tribe to use the land.
