The San Manuel Band of Mission Indians hopes its new compact with the state of California will be approved in January.
The deal would allow the tribe to add 5,500 slot machines at the San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino. The current compact limits the tribe to 2,000 machines.
The new machines could generate up to $7.2 billion in revenue for the state by 2030. But labor union and Democrats blocked the compact this past August.
