The Pala Band of Mission Indians is planning a $100 million expansion of its casino in the San Diego area.
The tribe has released a draft environmental impact report that details the project. The tribe will increase the size of its casino by more than a third, add a poker room and slot machines and expand dining, entertainment and retail venues.
Plans call for the remodel of the 570-room hotel, although no new rooms will be added. Additional parking structures will be created.
The tribe said it was motivated by growing competition among casinos in the region.
