A Texas state lawmaker will introduce a bill next year to reopen the Tigua Tribe's casino.
The tribe operated a Class III facility in El Paso. But it has been closed since February 2002, after the state won a series of court rulings.
The tribe then hired convicted lobbyist Jack Abramoff in hopes of getting federal legislation for the casino. Former Rep. Bob Ney (R-Ohio) backed the bill but pleaded guilty to accepting bribes from Abramoff.
