The Pala Band of Mission Indians has purchased 1,800 acres of land that surrounds another tribe's casino.
The Pala Band paid a whopping $27 million for the citrus orchards and undeveloped land. The tribe already owns avocado groves in the area.
The land surrounds the casino owned by the Pauma Band of Mission Indians. The tribe is planning to break ground on a casino expansion at the end of 2007.
