A new poll shows 56 percent of likely voters in Rhode Island oppose the Narragansett Tribe's proposed casino.
Only 33 percent said they supported the casino, according to Rhode Island College's Bureau of Government Research and Services. Another 10 percent are undecided.
The tribe is working with Harrah's Entertainment to build a casino in the town of West Warwick. Harrah's has spent $3.2 million in the last month alone to convince voters to support the project, making it the most expensive ballot race in state history.
The tribe and Harrah's need voters to amend the state constitution to authorize the casino. The question is on the November ballot.
