The Swinomish Tribe of Washington will begin work on infrastructure needed for a resort near the Northern Lights Casino.
The development, called the Northern Lights Resort, includes a condominium, a hotel and an indoor water park. To lay the groundwork for the property, the tribe is making road improvements and upgrading other services.
The tribe originally planned to build the resort with a partner but is moving forward on its own.
Groundbreaking on the actual resort is a few months away, said a spokesperson.
