The Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians is a step closer to approval of is new gaming compact with California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (R).
A bill to ratify the tribe's agreement was sent to the State Senate. It could be up for a floor vote on Monday.
The deal allows the tribe to operate up to 5,000 slot machines and open a third casino. The tribe will share slot machine revenues with the state.
