The Seneca Nation is seeking the dismissal of a lawsuit aimed at stopping the tribe from building a casino in Buffalo, New York.
Gaming opponents sued the Interior Department for approving a compact between the tribe and the state. But neither the tribe nor the state are named as defendants, setting the grounds for the dismissal motion.
The compact allows the tribe to build two off-reservation casinos. One was located in Niagara Falls and the other is being built in downtown Buffalo. The compact also authorized one reservation casino.
