A radio talk show host who has criticized Oklahoma's gaming tribes had two police incidents at Tulsa area casinos, The Tulsa World reports.
On August 29, 2005, Michael DelGiorno of KFAQ (1170 AM) [Website] was videotaped pulling his bet from a poker table at the Creek Nation's casino in Tulsa. He was later banished from all Creek Nation casinos following a formal hearing process [Documents].
Earlier in the day, DelGiorno was told to leave a Cherokee Nation casino in the Tulsa area. He made sexually inappropriate comments about a female dealer and cussed out a male dealer, the tribal police report said.
Just a few months before the incidents, DelGiorno made fun of a Cherokee woman who called into his show and said he has never visited a tribal casino. "No, of course not, honey. I don't believe in gambling," he said on March 29, 2005.
On two prior occasions, he also criticized Indian gaming. "I think it's a lie from the pit of hell that you can gamble and tax your way to economic prosperity, but the Injuns and your governor, they feel differently," he said on August 5, 2004.
