The Blackfeet Nation of Montana is finalizing work on a 33,000-square-foot casino in Browning.
The Glacier Peaks Casino opens later this month, with a grand opening slated around Labor Day. “This is way overdue,” Virgil Edwards, who sits on the board of the tribe's development corporation, told The Great Falls Tribune.
The casino features 500 electronic gaming machines plus blackjack and craps. The machines will be Class II, so no compact with the state is needed.
The tribe might try to negotiate a Class III compact with the state sometime in the future.
