Opponents of the Eastern Shawnee Tribe's casino in Lima, Ohio, want the city council to vote on the proposal.
The city is considering a memorandum of understanding with the Oklahoma-based tribe. Some people have spoken in support of the deal but Sheriff Dan Beck is trying to organize opposition because he said the media has portrayed him to be in the minority.
The city council is meeting next Monday and 29 people have requested to speak about the casino.
