The city council in Canal Fulton, Ohio, is considering a deal with the Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma.
Officials say they aren't rushing to make an agreement with the tribe. But they want to study the idea before they decide.
The tribe has looked at several casino sites in Ohio and has filed a land claim in hopes of settling for gaming rights. A bill pending in the Senate would bar such proposals in the future.
