The Burns Paiute Tribe in Oregon is seeking to build an off-reservation casino, KBCI-TV reports.
The tribe is based in Burns. The proposed casino would be in Ontario, near the Idaho border, about 140 miles away.
The tribe already submitted a land-into-trust application, ahead of a potential deadline in legislation pending in the Senate that would eliminate such casino proposals in the future.
