As of today, the Seneca Nation's hotel casino in Niagara Falls is fully operational.
The tribe spent two years building the 604-room hotel. Some of the floors have been open for business since late December, but the full hotel is open for business today.
The tribe acquired the land for the Seneca Niagara Hotel & Casino through a land claim settlement. Federal officials say it is the only time the land claim exception under the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act has been used for a casino.
