Non-Indian cardrooms release study on Cowlitz casino

A study prepared on behalf of four non-Indian cardrooms in La Center, Washington, claims the Cowlitz Tribe can move its proposed casino to another location and still make enough money

The tribe is seeking to acquire 152 acres in La Center for an initial reservation. The tribe has agreed to cover any drop in revenues that local governments receive from the cardrooms.

But the cardrooms say the tribe can look elsewhere to open a casino. Their study was prepared by ECONorthwest, an economic consulting firm that has conducted studies on the impacts of tribal gaming.
