The Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians delayed a vote on a casino project to give the public more time to comment.
The tribe wants to build a high-rise hotel at the Agua Caliente Casino in Rancho Mirage. The casino would also be expanded and an entertainment center and parking garage will be built.
The tribe has agreed to a number of financial, environmental and legal considerations but
the city of Rancho Mirage is seeking more concessions. A group called Stand Up For California is questioning the Indian land status of the casino site.
