The 11th annual Western Indian Gaming Conference is being held in Palm Springs, California, this week.
The conference is sponsored by the California Nations Indian Gaming Association [Web Site]. It kicks off today with a golf tournament.
On Wednesday, CNIGA President Anthony Miranda will deliver the State of the Tribal Nations. Attendees will get an update on activities in Washington, D.C. -- including attempts to amend the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act -- and in the state capitol of Sacramento.
On Thursday, attendees will discuss the Department of Justice's proposed amendments to the Johnson Act. The National Indian Gaming Commission will be on hand to explain the changes.
The conference ends on Thursday. On Friday, CNIGA holds its monthly membership meeting.
