Anti-casino group might appeal trust land decision

Taxpayers of Michigan Against Casinos (TOMAC) is considering an appeal of the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals decision that went in favor of the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians.

TOMAC could ask the full panel of the court to rehear the case or it could appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court. Both would be a waste of time and money, a tribal attorney said.

TOMAC raised three major challenges to the tribe's land-into-trust application. The D.C. Circuit rejected every single challenge in a unanimous decision on January 6.
