Connecticut tribes report slot machine revenues

Connecticut's two federally recognized tribes reported a total of $128.4 million in slot machine revenues for the month of November 2005.

The Mohegan Tribe reported a slot win of $67.2 million at the Mohegan Sun casino. This was higher than the $61.2 million at the Foxwoods Resort Casino reported by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation.

The New London Day said the higher Mohegan earnings represent an ongoing trend. Executives from both tribal casinos attribute the success to the Mohegan Tribe's recent expansion. The Mashantuckets are also expanding.

Under their compacts with the state, the tribes share 25 percent of slot revenues. The state's share for November 2005 was $32.3 million.
